Question:  Do you not believe in the direct guidance and illumination of the Holy Spirit?

Answer:   Those who are of the thinking that the Holy Spirit directly and without man's participation, illuminates and educates man mock articles such as Current Truth and the need of diligent study.  After all, if the Holy Spirit functions as they so believe, why would we need to study the scriptures?  (See 2 Tim. 2: 15, John 6: 44, 45.)  (Be sure to first read Current Truth.)

Question:  Doesn't your Current Truth titled, "The Law of Antithesis" bespeak legalism?

Answer:   It all depends on the attitude of the person considering Current Truth.  The scriptures abound with the idea and concept of law, even the New Testament (cp. Gal. 6: 1, 2).  We are, admittedly, presently under the, "...perfect law of liberty," nonetheless, law (Jas. 1: 25).  Hence, there is structure and intelligibility involved in serving God.

Question:  Why would you quote D. R. Duncan in your Current Truth?

Answer:  I am not ashamed of benefiting from the study of men of great minds.  Such quoting does not mean that I recognize these men as creed makers or "inspired" of God.  However, we should accept learning regardless of the source.  The greatest arrogance is seen on the part of those who boast special communication that is denied others.

Question:  How do you know for sure that the scriptures mentioned in Current Truth are instances of your law of antithesis?

Answer:   Based on examination and usage, this is how we know.  Jesus and the apostles made use of some of the most impressive teaching methods, the law of antithesis being one.  One reason for this, doubtless, is to stress truth and expose error.

Question:  How can you believe in the love of God and suggest that the lost will be eternally punished?

Answer:   As seen in Current Truth, such verses as Matthew 25: 46 teach eternal punishment of the wicked.  May I kindly suggest that many have trouble accepting such plain teaching apparently due to their one-sided view of the nature of God.  They forget that God is both a God of love and severity, depending on the circumstances (Rom. 11: 22).

Question:  Your "law of antithesis" requires too much thinking on the part of man; therefore, it must be exaggerated!

Answer:   This question contains an element of subjectivity and individuality that makes it difficult to address.  Jesus does expect and even require man "to think" (cp. Matt. 21: 28).

Question:  How do you use the word "law?"

Answer:  "Law" involves many requisite matters.  Such as structure, teaching, communication, and requirement.  I am aware that many today live lawlessly, thinking that "liberty" equates to "do-your-own-thing."  However, we have accountability to the scriptures, how we handle them and how we comply to the teaching.  In the case of "law of antithesis," we reference the fact that it is more than a perhaps true matter or could be situation.  "Law of antithesis" is a requirement pertaining to the considered situation and teaching circumstance.

Question:  Are you aware that many disagree and even resent such teaching as your "Law of Antithesis" Current Truth?

Answer:   Yes.  However, how people view, whether they accept or reject, is irrelevant.  What matters is it the truth!
